But one day he died from too much effort, thus leaving his two sons alone. His children found themselves in a really bad situation, but their neighbors took them by adopting them, saving their lifes.

His grandfather Abram was one of many Jews forced to emigrate in the early 1900s, and so arriving in Israel, he was one of the founders of the kibbutz where they live. To be able to build it, every inhabitant made enormous sacrifices and worked hard every day to make it better and better. Now that Abram is old and can no longer help, and Rafael is growing this task is up to him.

One of these kibbutz is Kabri, located in the north of Israel.
Josseph is a guy of 14 years old that lives in Kabri with his family and he helps him father and her mother to work in a shop of souvenir, for the hope of a better future for Josseph's family and for the community where they live.

Until a few months ago, I led a good life: I went to school, I studied and I went out with my friends on afternoon. From today instead everything is changed. A few months ago, precisely on 15 July 1938, in a newspaper where was an article whom it destroyed me emotionally: we jews were declared lower than the other. Today, 15 August 1938, the italian parliament passed the racial laws: my life is totally changed. On September I will not go to school and this make me stick. My dad was fire because he was a public servant. I cannot go the same before places but I can go those jewis. At home we’re all afraid. When we walk down the street, the people despises us e we prefer to stay home. We fear can happen something scary against us. I never been so scared and I ask myself because all of this happening. For ii, I and my family moved in Kibbuzt.

Kibbutz members worked in agriculture, managed the economy all together and shared their culture.
