It is also linked with health conditions such as obesity, metabolic syndrome type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.</p></li><li><p><strong>Refined carbs-</strong> cause frequent increases and decreases in blood sugar, consuming them is linked with type 2 diabetes.</p></li><li><p><strong>Increased cancer risk-</strong> A five-year study of over 100,000 people found that every <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.health.harvard.edu/cancer/eating-highly-processed-foods-may-raise-cancer-risk">10 percent increase in consumption</a> of ultra processed food was associated with a 12 percent higher risk for cancer.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
