         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe Billy's tea tasted like bitter almonds because the landlady contaminated the tea with some type of poison like antifreeze or cyanide. Then maybe she added almond flavoring to try and disguise the poison, I also believe that she did the same thing to Mr.Temple and Mr. Mullholland.  In the story it states when she brings Billy his tea " She was holding it well out in front of her, and rather high up,as though the tray were a pair of reins on a frisky horse." I believe that she was holding the tray up high because she did not want to breath in the poison. <br> </div>]]></description>
