In this chapter the Killers , Dick and Perry are currently talking about the murder in a diner, because the murder was mention on the newspaper. After, Perry was done reading the newspaper he didn't have room to eat like Dick he sticks to "aspirin and root beer" , like Perry was either like anxious or just don't have the stomach to eat because of killing of the Clutter family. Meanwhile, Dick is excited to eat and hear about the crime they just committed on the new paper, and how is worldwide " we scored. it was perfect" Perry said I believe that killing was his motivate , and he will do it again. - t.t

Nancy how she feel about the KBI finding weapons that were used in the murder of the Clutter family and knowing her killed Nancy isn't going to bring her back. Susan is devastated about Nancy death because , not to long ago they were making cherry pies together and now she gone. - t.t

This chapter is about how Al was struggling with the investigation. numerus of people called to report that they had information about the murder but no one was close. Al came to the conclusion that the pillow and mattress was to make them easier to shoot but "No, it was done for the same reason the mattress box was spread on the floor-- to make the victim more comfortable." perry who starts to think about the murder more and more after dick told him to never mention or think about it. He lied about killing the man in Las Vegas and knowing dick he wouldn't put the mattress or the pillow to make them comfortable but perry who still has a conscience would. - SS

All that perry was concerned about was getting out of the United States and going into Mexico where the law wouldn't be able to follow them. "On their way, and never coming back - without regret as far as he(perry) was concerned" perry wasn't leaving anything or anyone behind that would wonder where he ran off to. Not worrying about anything else conveys how perry was emotionally detached but still had a conscience however Dick who had three son, a brother and his parents would wonder were he disappeared to would start to bring up questions. Dick loved his family but didn't want them to get them involved. All that he wanted was to have a "normal" life and he feared leaving to Mexico would deprive him of that dream. -SS

One of the daughters of the Clutter family that survived the murder got married a few days after the killing happened. A brother of Bonnie Clutter wrote a letter that appeared in the newspaper after hearing some of the town folk wishing death on the murderer." The doer of this act is going to find it very difficult indeed to live with himself. His only peace of mind will be when he goes to God for forgiveness." The Clutter family was Christian, and this was a way to appeal to Christian mercy in place of revenge. Perry slowly is starting to realize that what he did was not normal of him. -SS

Already in Mexico they stop for a picnic where perry starts to really think about what they did to the Clutter family. "There's got to be something wrong with somebody who'd do a thing like that." Perry couldn't stop thinking about what he and dick had done to the Clutter family. He was a superstitious guy and he believed that something bad was going to happen to him if he left dick. Perry was "sensitive" and was proud of it and also the fact that he was "artistic." However Dick always belittled him to feel better about himself, he convinced himself that he was "normal". So that he could feel masculine and human just as Perry wants to be seen as "hard" and masculine. They both latch on to one another seeking for validation from each other. -SS

Chapter 11

Perry still had a consciousness and knew what he did to the clutter family was wrong. "Why go on talking about it? But he could not always stop himself. Spells if helplessness occurred, moments when he "remembered things"." Perry tells Dick that something is wrong with them because of what they did. Perry lied about killing the man in Las Vegas. The only reason he lied about killing someone in cold blood was because he wanted dick to "respect" him like perry did to dick. Perry wanted dick to think that he was "hard" as much "the masculine type" and now that he actually killed people he cant stop thinking about the fact that he took 4 lifes, making him think that he is bound to a life of misery . - SS

Chapter 12

Weeks go by after the murder and gossip is still going around the town and especially in Hartman's cafe about the murder of The Clutter family. "After what happened to Herb and his family, I felt something around here had come to an end. " The clutter family was one of the most respected in the town and for one to just murder them in the middle of the night with no valuable items stolen. Created a sense of fear and feeling that no one was safe. Town people started to gather their things and leaving far away from Holcomb. The happy and calming beautiful place that Holcomb was once was no more after the murder it had lost its innocence in a sense.
