1. Research, research, research
Research on Banquet Captain's job description and set little goals to achieve them.
2. Take advantage from free courses or TedTalks. It is a really good resource, feels like a free conversation with brilliant people and sees the bigger world.
3. Not only focus on learning how to become a Banquet Captain, but learn how to lead people as a leader. I'll keep the textbook and review them regularly. Especially when I went too far from my initial at some point, the book can bring me back.
At workplace
1. Ask my manager what are the expectation of being a banquet captain (ie. knowledge of business, customer service skills...).
2. Learn as much as I can from online free courses and from my captain.

1. I'm terrible with names, but I'll start to remember colleague's name outside my banquet team. Greeting them by their first name. Start showing my curiosity on people by asking simple questions.
2. Ask my manager for suggestions and feedback regularly. Communication is the key. The person needs to know what you think before he/she can help.
3. Observe what social people do. And never make any assumption.

After Work
1. Learn free courses from online and practice through daily interaction with people (ie. cashier). 
2. If possible, expand connections through LinkedIn and practice interpersonal skill through a "coffee invitation".
3. · Coaching and taking good care of my team members so they will do the same to me.
· My weakness is that I always afraid I am not the right person to the job and push me to study more. I more I study, the more confidence I will have.
