We found the height of the new gym. First we measured how far away Ronnie was from the new gym, which was 30 feet and 4 inches. Then Ronnie measured the angle of elevation, which was 40 degrees. We then used a yard stick to measure the height of his eye level, which was 5 feet 3 inches. Then we set up a diagram and used trigonometric ratios to find the height of the opposite side of the triangle, which was 25 feet and 6 inches. Then we added the height of the opposite side and Ronnie's eye level, which was 30 feet and 9 inches. That is our final answer for the height of the new gym.

Standing 53 ft and 2 in away from the tree, Gracie measured that the the angle of elevation was 30 degrees. We then measured that from eye level, Gracie was 5 ft 1 in. The height of the tree minus Gracie's height was 31 ft 3 in. From that, we found that the total height of the tree which was 36 ft and 4 in.

Then we used the clinometer to find that the angle of elevation was 40 degrees.

Our group's goal was to find the height of the EPICC building. First, we found the distance from the building to Alysia which was 10 feet. Next, we found the angle of elevation using a clinometer and got an angle of 25 degrees. We then got the height from eye level to feet which was 5 feet and 2 inches. To solve this problem, we used the tangent formula. Our final answer and the height of the building is 9 feet and 7 inches.

We started to find the height of the light pole by first finding it's angle measurement. We stood a certain distance from the light pole and from there we used the clinometer to determine the angle. Using Eli's eye level we concluded that it was 114 degrees and then we had to subtract 90 degrees from it which led to our final answer 24 degrees. In order to find the distance between Eli and the light pole the method we used was to first measure her foot size which happened to be 10.5 inches after that Eli walked in a straight line towards the pole to calculate how many steps it took.60 steps was the final answer and with that we multiplied 60 with 10.5 inches giving us 630 inches. We converted 630 inches to 52 ft. and 6 inches which gave us the final answer between Eli and the light pole. We then had enough information to use the tan method. Multiplying 630 inches x tan(24)= 280.49 inches converting that to 23 ft. and 4 inches. Still not giving us the height of the the pole since we only found the height starting from Eli's eye level. We had to add Eli's height(5ft.1in) with the measure of the pole we had.Converting both of the heights to inches making it easier on us. 280.49 inches + 61 inches= 341.49 inches. Once we converted that to feet we concluded that the total height of the pole is 28ft and 5 in.

We decided to measure the height of the tower down at the field. We first started by making Janet take 10 steps in front of the home hash. We then measured the angle with the clinometer, we ended up with 30 degrees. Then we measured amount of feet from Janet to the tower which ended up being 30 feet and 2 inches. We also measured the height from the ground to Janet's eyes, 4 feet and 9 inches from the ground to her eyes. We decided to use TAN to measure the height of the tower. So we had the adjacent and needed to find the opposite of the triangle. We sent it up as TAN x over 30ft and 2in. We then multiplied 30.166 and TAN(30*) and got 17.41. And finally, we added the 17 feet and 4 inches to the 4th and 9 inches and got that the height of the tower is 22 feet and 1 inch.
