  • Racial Profiling is the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offense.
  •  It occurs every day, in cities and towns across the country, when law enforcement and private security target people of color for humiliating and often frightening detentions, interrogations, and searches without evidence of criminal activity and based on perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion.

  • Deoxyribonucleic acid known as DNA for short is a molecule that contains the biological instructions that make each species unique.
  • Almost every detective uses DNA to solve a crime scene and find out who the suspect is. 
  •  DNA is generally used to solve crimes in one of two ways. In cases where a suspect is identified, a sample of that person's DNA can be compared to evidence from the crime scene.

Which means people are color are blamed for crimes they didn’t commit. Just like the Charles Stuart case. As you can see by the diagram, Blacks are charged the most for actions they did not make and sent to jail.

We used this virtual lab because there is a lot of bacteria found on weapons that are used in a crime scene. Also humans bodies are filled with bacteria. In fact half of our bodies are made up of bacteria.

    Steps

    • Prepare a sample from a patient and isolate whole bacterial DNA.
    • Make many copies of the desired piece of DNA.
    • Sequence the DNA.
    • Analyze the sequence and identify the bacteria.

One out of the two suspects will be guilty of first degree murder. We will look for clues, analyze the body of the victim, observe fingerprints, trace their body pigment, and eventually find out which one committed the murder. Instead of jumping to conclusions on who we think did it based on their culture and environment of where they live, we will determine who is guilty by facts only. This  experiment  will show that cases can be solved through  specific steps, and has nothing to do  with people’s race.
