When reading this article, I really thought about how important the SEL competencies are for students and adults and how important the classroom community is (safe to take risks). The video is a powerful example of these 3 SEL skills being used in a challenging situation - we all need many opportunities to practice these skills in safe spaces first before we might deploy them in a more volatile setting.
