SPEAKER
In each song there is a voice and its not always the singer. He, She , or they are usually addressing a a Person, Place, or thing. Sometimes sad, happy, or mad and in my song its Happy and Sad. The speaker in the song I chose is the singer himself, Drake. He is talking to the people that follow him and the haters he is dealing with. The main lyrics of his song ''Laugh Now Cry Later'' are ''Sometimes we Laugh Sometimes we cry but I guess you know now''. Here he is stating even when famous you are loved by many people but can be hated by a lot of people as well. The people that make up stories and think being a rapper is easy say things like he sucks and I could do better than him. It hurts him a lot but he laughs and then cry's.

What is Rhetorical Analysis?
It is when you analyze the SOAPS along a certain subject that influences your emotions using Logos, Pathos, or Ethos to address a message.
In the song and music video that I chose Ethos and Pathos is used a lot.
Pathos is all about your emotions and in the music video it is used perfectly since the singer/speaker of the song Drake actually shows himself crying between 1:04-1:10.
Ethos is used pretty well in the music video and lyrics as well since you get to see some great athletes play sports with Drake and beating him at their own games posing as the big obstacles Drake went through. The imagery is pretty cool as well because with the music video having the Nike Headquarters, Top Athletes, Drake Crying, and Bright and Dark colors you can feel how audiences have been addresses by the music video.

OCCASION
The occasion is the way a feeling from a person, place, or thing is being addressed. Rap artist drake in the song is in a very cool looking collaboration with Nike and is at the beginning showing off how much money he likes to spend and how much he isn't getting paid enough to react about. To go deeper into the occasion I chose this song because Drake is addressing his haters and fake people about how he feels. He is also telling his fans that its hard to be accepted in the rap game and to be opened to other famous people. The occasion is mostly sad but he is at least putting it out to the haters and his fans.

AUDIENCE The audience of this song are Drake fans and people who really just hate him for some reason. For a specific age group its addressed to teens 15 and up because most kids at that age know what kind of love and hate famous people get and even popular kids at school. Seeing someone you hate at school is super relatable to this song. Especially with school drama and I'm sure celebrity drama like Drakes is a lot more hurtful coming from thousands of people. Like he said in his song ''He's telling the story that's not how it went, know they be lying one hundred percent. He is talking about how his haters make up lies/stories that are not true and some people actually believe it.

PURPOSE The purpose is the making of this song. WHY? Drake has gone through a lot of drama and heart breaks in the past and has finally made a song about how he really feels. In his song he talks about never being embraced and calling out people who say they do certain things they said are doing but they really are not. He is calling out every fake he knows (without saying there name) that he knows the real them and he is laughing and then crying later.

SUBJECT The subjects of this song would be fame, friends, and trust. For the fame he knows how hard it is having lots that hate you. Friends is probably easy to make when very famous but not all are who they seem. Trust is very hard for him and is key to friendship which is why he is now calling out all the fakes he has dealt with in the past.

TONE This songs tones are pretty cool because the lyrics are sad and the video shows the athletes being the obstacles he had to go through. After having fun with the athletes he usually gets beat so that's when he cry's. There's a little bit of laughter but proves the fact that he is very emotional.

Drakes whole career has been fun and sad at some points. Having all this money to get a collaboration with Nike to show how rich he is and having all these fans of his and still having sad times. He used Ethos and Pathos so well in his music video and lyrics that I honestly now really do know what he is talking about. At first I was like wow the trumpets sound cool at the beginning but I now really understand the story he is telling in the song.

He uses the lyrics ''I took a half and she took the whole thing, slow down, baby.''
Which infers to a girl he really likes who took a lot of something valuable and left him with barely anything.
''Please don't play that n**** songs in this party, I can't even listen to that.''
This is another one of his lyrics that fully addresses the hate of his haters music and that he doesn't want to listen to them nor his music. Through out the video he is playing sports which pose as different types of problems he faces and I believe is a very friendly way of showing how much he has gone through. Plays Basket Ball and gets beat. Plays Football and is then tackled down by the problem. He has shown and said lots of his problems throughout the whole video and such an amazing way;
