         <title>Grade Band 6-8 (Focus on 6th)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>6.1 - adding quoting &amp; paraphrasing so growth and consistentcy across multiple grade levels.&nbsp; * emphasis on grade 4 - summarizing now accountability in grade 6.&nbsp;<br><br>RL 6.4 - has been "unpacked" and clarified. The expectation has been raised and clarified --think mood and tone are taught within several genres.&nbsp;<br>RL 6.10 - with this shift a set of recommended texts will be necessary.&nbsp; (Alignment will help solidify the grade level band for 6-8)<br><br>6.1 Writing- more flexibility for ELLs and engagement for students that have received&nbsp; FLEP status.&nbsp;<br>Instructional Focus Work around - Claim-Evidence -Reasoning will continue to consistency.<br><br>W 6.2- Now, teachers will explicitly teach and assess formal &amp; academic writing. * Exemplars will be necessary.&nbsp;<br><br>6L.1-Protocols for CALM  will stay (i.e. Discussion Norms, Jigsaw regardless of the student pop.) &nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
