Population (2014 est.) 104,488 (growth rate: 1.18%); birth rate: 21.85/1000; infant mortality rate: 35.47/1000; life expectancy: 65.47. The island nation of Kiribati is sinking due to both rising sea-levels and its increasing population. About half of the total head-count, some 50,000 people, is already packed into a small sand strip that measures six square miles. But the main problem is that the water is dirty and it shouldn't be used for hygiene. There can easily be made wordly connections with businesses and social events that can represent a primary sector in the community. 

Help raise the HDI and lower the GEM which deals with the main differences because if all the community gets clean water there can be no injustice between the sanitation in the area/community you are in.

Water aid- Water aid gets safe water, sanitation, and hygiene to everyone and everywhere, they tackle reasons why the poorest people live without human services like water.

Charity Water- Charity water is a non-profit on a mission to help and get clean water to every place on the planet and with the help of donations they helped 24 countries and had had 19,819 water projects.

HDI {Human Development Index}~ The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators, which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development.

GEM {Gender Empowerment Measure}~ The Gender Empowerment Measure (GEM) is a measure of inequalities between men's and women's opportunities in a country. It combines inequalities in three areas: political participation and decision making, economic participation and decision making, and power over economic resources.

Productivity~ the effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input.

Per Capita~ Per Person

Literacy Rate~ People aged 15 or older that can read or write.

Student-Teacher Ratio~ Student–teacher ratio or the number of students who attend a school or university divided by the number of teachers in the institution.

GDP {Growth Domestic Product}~ Gross domestic product (GDP) is the monetary value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time period.

Value-Added~ the amount by which the value of an article is increased at each stage of its production, exclusive of initial costs.

Core Countries~  Are the industrialized capitalist countries on which periphery countries and semi-periphery countries depend.

Periphery Countries~  are those that are less developed than the semi-periphery and core countries. These countries usually receive a disproportionately small share of global wealth.

GDI {Gender Development Index}~  is an index designed to measure of gender equality.

Other Terms

• Birth Rate~  is the total number of live births per 1,000 of a population in a year.
• Infant Mortality Rate~ is the number of deaths of infants under one year old per 1,000 live births.
• Life Expectancy~  is a statistical measure of the average time an organism is expected to live, based on the year of their birth, their current age and other demographic factors including sex.
