I was named after a few things. I’m usually called Rori-Kate by my family (Kate is short for my middle name Kathleen) the Kate part comes from a really close friend of my mom’s, and Rori comes from two things. Rory is an Irish name meaning fire which was chosen because I was a premie and my parents wanted to give me a strong name. I am also named after Rory Gilmore from Gilmore girls.

My mother always tells me that she had a friend with a name pronounced like mine and she really liked it so she used it. I think the spelling may have been different because in Spanish it pronounced different. If you look my name up on urban dictionary, the “definition” is pretty accurate.
