I felt shared enthusiasm among participants about exploring their own biodiversity. Unfortunately, all of us have biodiversity issues. It is interesting to observe that species that are good in one place can be bad elsewhere. On the other hand, it surprised me that people identified severe issues in areas that I would have thought were still preserved (e.g Pakistan National Park, Montenegro Lake Skadar). This proves again that we don’t learn enough from each other’s experience, and that only a global shared action can help save the planet.

Differences:
Some of the padlets were hard to read or hard to make comments to (feature is not activated). I often lacked references on other padlets. Many students concentrated more on sharing pictures than on explanation. Finally, I liked the difference in approach from very large bio areas to very narrow ones. Personally, being from a small country I preferred to change my focus from the country level to specific areas, depending on the exercise. This helped me to take a balance between the various sub-regions on my very culturally complex and diversified country.

Mireille's you are very good in writing and describing issues. You covered your country biodiversity profile in depth. You prepared all assignments in detail with solid justification and concrete examples with pictures, maps and case studies. I am amazed to know that your country is small but it took great steps for conservation of biodiversity and mitigation of climate change. Therefore, I would like to asses your  BioArea padlet is excellent!  and hope you will keep continuous to conserve biodiversity of your surrounding, your country and globe.
