The purpose of 3D biomedical printing is to heal/improve life for people. Currently, the biopen is working to help sufferers of osteo-arthritis, the biopen developers would need to ensure regulatory approval and ensure no harm to patients.
Looking forward what should/shouldn't be printed? As long as it is within the confines of healing or helping scenario and has regulatory approval it should be allowable.
Materials used in printing such as animal or similar that may have the potential to cause zoonosis (F.Gilbert et al); infectious disease of non-human animals that can be transmitted to humans, or anything of similar risk must be reduced before implanting into human. Also, the potential for teratoma, cancer risk in the long term must also be assessed.
