by Peter Huynh
Do we really need pennies in our daily lives? At the moment Canada is deciding on removing the penny because of it's pointless price. But question is what should America do with the penny? The penny can be used to pay off that extra one cent an item may cost, but should we have to worry about that? We now have credit/debit cards to deal with that plus we could always round the price so it is easier to count rather than wasting our space for one extra penny.

by GAVIN CHAN
First of all, many people didn't like how big the pennies are. They also hated how "making money cost money". On Source #4, Paragraph 2, "TEN varieties have been minted, mostly because of changes in metal content...". "The U.S. Mint is still

To make the pennies, it cost about $0.024, and

On one hand, the penny is easily one of the best and efficient ways to control our monetary system. Getting rid of the penny "will cost consumers $600 million per year" claimed by Mark Weller, America s for Common Cents spokesperson.
We can't say keeping the penny is the best idea though, but we can definitely say that without destroying pennies, wages will amount up to $700 million just paying for the time it takes to count pennies.

by Peter Huynh
In conclusion, the penny has been part of our nation for a while but now it is time for it to go. It cost the penny too much to make and it's a waste of our time. The amount of fuel and materials that are needed to make more pennies everyday costs more than the penny itself. Why would we want to keep a coin that doesn't do any good for us in the first place? I recommend that you go out there and inform people about the penny and why we should remove it from America.

Secondly, I believe that the penny is worthless and should be removed due to the fact that it could save money. According to Source #1 in Paragraph 7, it states that a 99-cent pizza might become 95-cent pizza in the future when the penny is removed. hij der
