I did the activity of listening to children stories on YouTube because I wanted to get better at understanding and comprehending what I was listening to.  While listening to the book I was able to look at the pictures and read along which helped me understand what the man was saying. I was also able to use my background knowledge such as knowing what grande and petit meant to know what he was talking about in the first book.

2.  I thought this activity was really cute and fun because I had never heard any children stories in French. This activity was really helpful for me to re learn some of the terms I learned last year and I really enjoyed the pictures in the books. 

3. While watching the video I learned the names of different animals,  re learned some old vocabulary terms, learned new words I had never heard, and used context clues to understand what the narrator was saying.

4. I chose the activity because I would be able to create a fun French songs playlist to listen to.

2. I thought this activity was really fun, but also hard because I don't know many French songs. On the other had while searching songs up I found a lot of disney songs in French. I am a very big disney person so I really enjoyed putting some disney songs in the playlist.

3. While creating the playlist I was able to learn the titles of French songs and be able to expand my horizons of songs to listen to.

The past couple of days in French class have been really fun and I enjoyed doing all the fun activities in breakout rooms with my peers. One of my favorite activities was probably the Lots of Dots Activity because my group and I had a fun time trying to explain what we saw with each chart. It was hard to complete these activities because sometimes I would get confused or wouldn’t understand some of the words that were being said. Other than that I think that I was able to complete the activities fine because my peers were able to help me if I didn’t understand  something. One thing that I can work on is listening more carefully. It is a little hard to hear some of the things on zoom so I can definitely work on listening more closely to make sure I understand and hear everything that is being said.

Part C:
1) I think that I am doing okay with describing myself and other through speaking. I do struggle with some words and pronouncing them. I think that when I try describing others and myself I get really scared and my mind goes blank which makes me forget some of the words. I also hold myself back because I am having a really hard time with the conjugations. Through writing I feel a little more confident but I still have a lot of trouble. Sometimes I feel a little less scared because I know that I have the Quizlet sets and word reference if I am having trouble. The main thing that I am having a hard time with is that last year I didn't learn a lot because of the school closing so my teacher tried her best but she rushed through most of the lessons. In class I have trouble understanding what is being said and I have tried practicing the conjugations, but I still don't understand them.

2) Through listening it is harder to understand a persons description because I am more of a visual learner. It is much easier for me if I can read the description because even if I don't know the word I can use context clues or the words I do know in order to figure what I am reading. 

3) I helped myself and my classmates with learning French by reaching out to my friends. Most of the time if I don't understand something I try face timing my friends so that we can ask each other questions and if one of us knows the answer and the other one doesn't we are able to explain it to one another. Also during break out rooms in class if one of my classmates does not know what we are doing I try explaining to her what we are doing.

4) For the next unit I want to work on not is asking for help and to get better at the conjugations.

All these activities were really fun because during the coloring pages activity it was fun just being able to relax and listen to music. During the among us game I learned the different slang words in French such as imposter, the colors, and the phrase to say when we thought someone was suspicious. Throughout the week I also thought it was really cool being able to learn about different facts about the Francophone culture and playing the really hard Kahoot game in class was hard but also enjoyable. The dress up day I though was a cool way to bring in the Francophone culture because I never knew that the Quebec flag colors were blue and yellow. I decided to dress up in mostly blue clothing such as my blue Hollister hoodie, a blue pair of jeans, and some white socks with my blue and white Adidas sandals. I learned that in the United Sates some people call Mardi Gras "Fat Tuesday" becuase it is the day before Lent and many people try to eat a lot before lent. I also learned about the kings cake that some people make and eat for the celebration which is similar to the Rosca that they do in Mexico. In addition, I was able to learn way more about the huge celebration in New Orleans that is for Mardi Gras which is huge and colorful. For the videos I learned that the little kids in Senegal dress up in costumes and have happy smiles. Today's activity helped me with the objectives: I can talk about items I need for a party and I can give details about what I do/did because I practice vocab for party supplies and I expanded my sentences that we did for homework. I realized that in the beginning of the school year I was really nervous when doing classwork or homework because I struggled to understand some of the words and was scared to mess up while reading. As time has passed I have gotten more comfortable reading out loud in class and reassuring myself that if I mess up it is okay because all that matters is that I try my hardest. I have also used my understanding of English and Spanish to figure out words in French that I do not understand, which have helped me when trying to understand an assignment. 

A pattern that I saw while reading my old posts was me always doubting myself when it came to learning something new. I feel like everytime I tried learning something new I held myself back from answering the questions outloud or participating in whole group discussions because I was nervous and always thought that my answer was wrong. I also saw the pattern of determination. If I didn't get something right, I always wrote that I needed more practice and would look for tools to help me out such as quizlets and kahoots. 

Next year I am looking forward to getting better at my pronunciation skills and writing skills. I hope that during the summer I will continue to study some of the material we learned this school year so that next fall I am ready to jump into French 3 Honors.
