Comparing the two workouts I noticed that both were built around social connection, working out with my siblings and working out with peers from school. Getting outside and going on a bike ride with my siblings was a nice way to get some air and to maintain my mental wellness so I'm not just cooped up in my room everyday. The second workout was a nice way to connect to my peers that I haven't talked to or seen in a while and to stay connected to people from school during social isolation. For both workouts, it kept me active and moving.

Social Connection: This time, I worked out with 5 others in an organised way as we decided on the exercises to do and the intervals.
Physical Wellness: I focused this time on developing specific areas of fitness in each of the exercises, for example, working out my leg muscles with lunges, instead of general sports activities.
Mental Wellness: I stayed at home for work out this time. I could also benefit from going outside for a walk.
Social Isolation: I connected with some friends again who I haven't talked to for a while.

For my partner workout, I performed HIIT workouts with my sister outside. Comparing this partner workout with the group exercises, I found that working out with less people allowed me to focus more on how far I could challenge myself both physically and mentally than the group exercises. However, social connection was very pivotal in both workouts, requiring effective communication to continue with the workout. Organizing the order of exercises to perform or even planning out the activity itself by communicating within the group was crucial for success. During this time of social isolation, it was also very refreshing to virtually reunite with peers and stay connected.

yoga
Before the yoga I was angry at my brother at something he did but then after the yoga I just felt sleepy more than anything else. I've had to do yoga before but I find that I weirdly feel more relaxed after doing MMA then yoga because after yoga I always just feel tired but any emotions I felt before are still there.

Can you extend your thinking by talking about how you could use this more often?

I could meditate when I'm starting to feel stressed and take a break to calm myself and my thoughts (even just fora couple of mins to calm down). This would mean that I would hopefully stop getting so wound up in stress and be able to go back to work.

For me I realized that I enjoyed the group work out more that the partner work out. For the partner work out I worked with my dog and, while I do like my dog, I found it to be a little lonely. However, with the group work out I found it very fun since we were all working together to create a workout menu and we even physically did our work out menu. The group work out also helped my mental wellness because I have not communicated with a classmate in a long time so it really lightened up my day to finally do so.

Before the yoga session, I was feeling very sleep-deprived and unmotivated to start the day. However, during the session, the mediation process allowed me to clear my mind from the stress of the school workload and social isolation. Rather, I could focus more on engaging in being more present in the moment. I felt much more calm, focused and optimistic afterwards. When feeling overstressed, I could take the time to mediate for a few minutes and clear my mind before continuing on with the rest of my day with the right mindset.
