1. In my opinion, the student council brings the DP communities' ideas to life. It is one thing to brainstorm and come up with initiatives, but it is a whole other thing to put in effort and organise them. Hence, the role of the council in the DP space is extremely important and opens up opportunities to collaborate. Moreover, the informal role that the council plays is also extremely significant, we are a community that encourages interactions and positive discussions in the DP space: amongst ourselves and the students, teachers and staff, ensuring unity and inclusivity.
2. Monkey see, monkey do typa beat. If we are productive and supportive, I'm sure we will inspire change even if takes time. In fact, this is not only with regards to the council, but also to every individual in the DP space.

1. I think the student council is important because more than anything at this time it gives us hope. Something to feel proud of. Some people to look up to. Some semblance of normalcy.
2. Being the best version of you inspires change no matter your role. The attitude. It’s hard to be the best version of me right now. It’s even harder for people to see the versions we project through a screen. But we go on nonetheless. We do the best we can still. We hope.
What I love about our council so far is our unity and positivity.

Being in the council has always been in my bucket list. Since I joined pathways I wanted to contribute to the community as much as I could. For me it’s not about leadership it’s about being that person who others can rely on and talk to. I want to share my knowledge and ideas with all and take responsibility for our community. To me it’s important as I wanna grow as an individual and grab all opportunities my way. Being representatives is an important role in the dp space cause it teaches you the skills you aspire. I wanna bring change being in the service team in our community, environment and society. Our team works hard and will for sure give back to our community. Hence, student council is none another than individuals opting to help out everyone and support pathwaysians.

Hello!
1. The role of the council is very important to me (I think).
Obviously this is a joke as in, I am certain (110%) that this role is important in the DP space. I mean as the Deputy Head of Events [I control everything :)], I can propose events which I believe are important to me & the grade and help carry them out so that the DP experience is slightly less stressful than it already is. What I believe is that this opportunity will make DP more enjoyable for everyone and at the end of the day, I believe thats the best for the whole community. Enjoying the days we have left before we are working our dream jobs is what I want everyone to do while I am in this position. To everyone who tried for council and didn't get in, not getting a role should not stop you from trying to start new initiatives and events in the school. I think getting this role just means that I can help you start them so whatever you want me to do, I'll see what I can and try my best!
2. The role will inspire change. Yes! How should I know? Anyway, now I shall proceed to explain how this role will inspire change. I think through this role I can get other students to also be involved in events and that is what I believe is necessary for change. Involvement and trying your best will lead to positive growth and I think not only am I ready to do that and experience change in myself but also see others grow themselves.

1. For me, the student council's role is incredibly important in the DP space. The role doesn't always necessarily involve starting new initiatives or bolstering school spirit - in such hard times, the council provides a sense of support and solidarity among the DP community. For me, that has been a huge source of motivation and strength.
2. The role can inspire change by guaranteeing that students know there are people who've got their backs and who genuinely care about them. This reassurance often drives one to go out of their comfort zone and explore new facets of school life, since they know they have the council to fall back on.

Being a council member has always been a dream for me and I always knew I'll be able to achieve this goal. I have been a part of the Pathways family since grade 3 and from we grade 5 I always gave it a try to be a part. While I was submitting my form council this time I was kind of sure that I will be able to go through this whole process.
I never took this as a batch I am getting but that one person with anyone can speak. I am a very funny and positive soul, so whenever anyone came up to me saying I am done with life and I can't do it my answer was always the same for all across the board "take it easy, we'll sail through" because this is actually what I believe in and I want to help my peers and friends to understand that life is not difficult it's us who makes it complicated.
1. Our responsibility in the DP space is to make sure whenever or whoever needs us we are always there to help and support them with all possible ways. If we as a student council member have gotten the responsibility then we must make it sure that no one is left out or unheard.
2. We being the purest forms ourselves is the role we all can portray for our peers and juniors and if we be the purest forms ourselves then we will be able to make a significant change. I think our council is a group of people which spreads positivity and because of are this attitude we will be able to inspire change.

If students want free lessons, teachers need to complete syllabus.

In a world of dichotomy, contrasts exist even in our spaces of learning. To strengthen any relationship, compromises are essential.

The student council acts as mediators, between this student-teacher relationship, which must thrive for learning to happen.

Certain elements of the council such as the hierarchy of the badges, or the simple fact that some students do not secure a place in the council, render it counter-productive to PSG's "living with responsibility" segment of its vision, making the concept seem inequitable.

Nonetheless, this contradiction can be looked away from, due to the Council's ability to spark change and passion within the school community. In the Publications team, we understand the power of the written word, and use platforms such as the Newsletter as a privilege to voice all our opinions.

Having been a part of the DP council for an approximate of 70 days, I have come across a number of situations that have allowed me to understand the varying expectations of both students and teachers from us - perfectly highlighting the importance of having a student council in the DP space.

We are expected to be a representation of the student voice, however, we are also expected to filter what to represent.

Understanding what to represent and which concerns hold value can be tricky at times. It is important for us to be able to understand the motives behind concerns - a skill that has proved helpful - and convey, what we believe are genuine and communal concerns to the teachers. This goes to show just why we require a student council.

Stated tirelessly in nomination speeches, "The student council acts as a bridge between the teachers and students". In my time in council, I continue to realise the strength that this single statement holds - it is quite the statement that defines the relationship among all actors in the DP space. This bridge is vital to create free-thinking, safe and supportive community, one that feels heard, within the DP space.

While seemingly simple, its necessary to understand what to represent and what not to; while a council member has his or her own beliefs, they certainly shouldn't come in the way of representing others.

Inspiring change on the other hand is an intrinsically challenging task- especially in the context of high school. As a member of the Publications team, the written word can be used to achieve- I'd need to ensure that the student community's voice is heard to inspire change.

A mediator between the two parties is of utmost significance to have a smooth functioning relationship between the teachers and students, and to project the voice of the student body as well. However, the most challenging aspect of the council so far was to choose between what to tell the teachers, and what to cross off.

The student council plays a vital role in terms of conveying the views and issues within the student body to the higher administration in the DP space. Being students themselves, they are more aware of these problems, since they grapple with many of them face-to-face. This not only pertains to the well-being of students, or even the voice of the student body, but in fact the effort their peers put into fulfilling their responsibilities both in school and outside school, which is often hidden from the eyes of onlookers. This communication is what may inspire change within the current DP space, since the reality of the students' situation(s) can best be brought to light through students themselves.

1. The student council plays an important role in the DP space. We are expected to be the voice of reason, the role models for the rest of the student body. The student council is essential in the DP space as they are qualified individuals who have the necessary thinking and communication skills to ensure that each party (including students, teachers and staff) remains content. It has been mentioned numerous times how the council acts as a 'bridge between teachers and students'. This is especially true and something I witness being a part of the council. At times, it may be difficult to meet halfway, and that's when the council proves to be most helpful. The council helps make the DP space more enjoyable.

2. My role as a council member can inspire change in the DP space. This is not restricted to motivating the students to participate more in events. It also means bringing changes students want to see. It creates a sense of trust, where the students are free to voice their opinions. This is because we reassure them that we support them, and will try our best to take up their concerns (granted it's a genuine concern).
