Although implicit, children on leashes reminded me of the terrible case of child trafficking and child labor in the past and today. I wanted to use this moment to emphasize the use of child labor and how it is mentally and physically abusing to the growing mind of children. Aspects of slavery  play a role in this too as we are people of consumption while children work non-stop. At first I was going to just add old cartoon depictions of slaves in the foreground in chains and string as well to reflect the little kids. I figured that I should do something different compared to my Narrative Project. My concept for the project was to show Disney characters having a hidden mental disorder/trauma. In this case, I highlighted Disney Princess and how Disney persuades us into thinking they're perfect. However, due to the disorders/traumas, I was able to show the irony and used text to show that they're not as perfect as we thought. This was because I thought that using Shepard Fairey style would bring be more appopriate for the subject that I was doing, "Stop Asian Hate". This ironically related to Fairey art piece on the picture of Obama with the word "HOPE" at the bottom. I learned Shepard Fairey style through the activity that was given to us. But before this, I was leaning towards Banksy's artwork. However in his artwork, it doesn't seem to project a single message, rather than multiple that could be interpreted in different ways.

Compared to my test piece, I decided to add a submarine border because I felt like it needed one, I changed the opacity of the fish to make it stand out from the other objects, I changed the word "recycle" to "recycling", and I removed the white line that was above the text. I think that the submarine border fits perfectly because it gives you a point of view that makes it seem like you are looking out of a window. My theme was to take landscape paintings of Van Gogh's and merge them with mine so that there was a blend of photo as well as paint. With my pieces I also kept the theme of complementary colors. In this one it's subtle than the rest seeing as the light yellow can come off as white. I also liked how this one kind of turned out to look porcelain like. I really liked this one because I had never planned on doing this and in the end it was a really fun piece to make since I was able to incorporate everything I love and grew up with into an ancient photo that is a staple of my culture. This picture highlights the Black side. In this picture, my friend's brother told me that this pose and this saying was something he was "used to". Why should anyone be used to doing that?
He was taught it at a young age because of the negative stereotypes that were given to people of his community. The stereotype ruined Black people's image and gave people an excuse for racism. 
This pose is so normalized for Black people as a response when in trouble and that's a big problem. No person should be used to telling anyone not to shoot them.

I plans on portraying the feelings of  the pressure,thoughts and future life decisions all into one photo. By doing this, I got this image from the internet that’s kinda describe this whole concept that i’m trying to do with. I just took a few photo that’s describe the careers I wants to do from Google, then I added them in the background, next I just adding a bunch of texts of  thoughts/questioning myself and things I’ve received  from other. Luckily, I tried to blurred out the texts because it might look little dramatic and I think that it kind fit the script.
