  • He is known to be one of the worst serial killers in history.
  • He has many other names that he is known to be called including Dr. death, the angel of death, and the good doctor.
  • He was a general practitioner which is how he found and killed his victims.
  • It is said that he murdered about 250 of his patients.
  • He killed his patients by injecting them with a high dosage of pain killers and then he would later sign their death certificate saying it was due natural causes.
  • After killing one of his older patients, he changed her will to benefit himself.
  • The police were alerted of Shipman by another doctor who found the death numbers in his patients suspicious, but the police cleared him.
  • The daughter of one of his victims refused to believe how Shipman said her mother died and her suspicions are actually how Shipman's killing spree ended. 
  • He was only ever convicted of 15 murders.
  • Along with his murder charges, he was also charged with forgery.
Verdict:
Shipman was found guilty and he was sentenced to life in prison without parole. 

Aftermath:
Shipman committed suicide in his prison cell in 2004.
