The solution is protein rich flour made out of insects as grasshoppers and to develop algae farms.

Problems:  food travels long distances before ending up on our plates and this has devastating effects on the environment since these food miles emits huge amounts of carbon dioxide.
Solutions: to eat more locally produced food and to do so we have to engage in urban farming. 
The positive impacts urban farming has on the society: 
Adds greenery to the cities reduces harmful runoffs 
A social aspect: helps people to reconnect with the earth, 
offers vast economic opportunities to smallholders, for example it creates jobs and raise incomes. 
Another problem:
- is rising rents due to expensive lands urbanised cities have
urban soils can be loaded with toxic substances such as arsenic. This requires remediation, could been as an ineffective method. 
other challenges:

There won´t be enough resources and food for all of the population 
2.  We grow a lot more food today than just a generation ago, but the water and underground supplies aren´t enough. We´ll have to find new ways to feed the population.

1.   Food has to be transported very far distances, not much is cultured locally. Negative impact on our planet, pollution and energy use. 
2.  Land in cities is often expensive, and planting in cities can´t always be done safely. Getting enough water and sunlight can be concerns.

The main issue is that the land in the cities are very expensive which makes the rental for houses and apartments more expensive. Also, the soil is loaded with a lot of  toxins due to the polluted air. 
2. The food doesnt need to be transported so far, which contributes to less pollutions in the air.  The plants will also take up the carbon dioxide, this doesnt affect the global warming. 
3. Overall the food is often transported far and by cultivating in the city the food that is being produced becomes local, which benefit the earth.

That we have a solution for long- distance transport include mor packing, refridgeration and fuel and a huge amount of waste. The advances in food processing made long-term storage possible.  There is no solution to the meat consumption, but it has decreased over the last years. 
2. Positive: less pollution, its healthier which decreases our healthcare costs. We save water. 
Negative: no
4. About a third of greenhouse gas emissions come from the resources needed to farm cows, chickens and pigs. This is a sign of how bad it is for both us and the enviroment to eat meat.

Cons of long-distance travel:
- taste
- pollution
- more packaging
- globalization affects prices for both costumers and retailers
A solution to these problems could be that farmers sell their produce locally instead of globally.
-We need to encourage people to eat locally produced food, and to eat in season. But it will take some time for people to be willing to eat mostly locally produced food.
pros and cons of eating local produce:
+Money spent on local produce benefits the community (jobs etc)
+less grennhouse gas emissions
+less packaging

Is reducing meat consumption...
How do we get ppl to eat less meat:
-campaigns
-raise taxes on meat, and have lower taxes on meat-substitutes and vegetables
-role models advocating for a non-meat based diet
-make the problems related to meat-consumption more relatatable to people

positive aspects of not eating meat:
-better health
-better for the envorinment
less transport-related gas emissions

Genetically modified food
pros:
-"design" desired crops in order to get larger yields, and a better food value, avoid insect-infested crops
cons:
-smallholders get dependent on GM seeds from multinational companies

You manipulate the genes of an organism by transplanting DNA from other organisms. This makes the seed or whatever it is as good as possible. Problem for the farmers they cannot afford the seeds. Some people claims that the food has a lot of chemical herbicides which is not good for either our health or the enviroment. 
2. Poitive: you get the best food as possible. You get more food than if it wouldent be GMO, larger harvest. 
Negative: its not healthy to eat much processed food. Very expensive - not all local farmers are able to afford it whcih makes their own harvests to small --> which results in lower incomsts than it could have been.

5. The acces to the raw material considering how many people it is who most get food every day

Urban farming
1. How we can start growing our food in the cities
2. Cities are very cramped, the supply of water and sunlight to the garden plots are bad
3.  New technology, community support and economical incentives 
4. When your food is so locally grown you reconnect with the earth and appreciate the food more
5.  Would cost a lot of money to eastblish these plots and it would not be the most money efficient to produce the food and more laboure
6. It is not effective, cost a lot of money and generate pollution with the labour needed to establish there plots

Local food challenges and opportuniities
1. The globalization of the food, the travelling of food over the whole world. 
2. Bad for the enviroment, our health, our communities and our tastebuds
3. The local alternative offers huge economic opportunities
4. the reduction in the greenhouse effect. If we start produce our own plants or buy locally food, the long distance shipping would not be important and we can take down the emissions
5.  The people living in poverty end up in a hard situation since the locally produced food is more expencive

Is reducing meat consumption in the U.S. possible?
1. How to reduce meat consumption, as it is a political, ethnic and morally rooted issue

3. Education,  social pressure, banning, encouragement
