Our school by Ergates Primary School

The first Primary School in Ergates opened in 1900. Previously, children who wanted to learn letters went to the monastery of Agios Herakleidis in Politiko, and later to the communities of Pera and Psimolofou. From 1900 to 1926, students from the Anagyia community attended the school.
Initially the school was housed in a hall provided by the church, but due to the rapid increase in students, in 1950 it was deemed necessary to build a new building, in the area where the school is located today. In 2010, the sports fields, the stands and the school yard were completely reconstructed and new toilets, changing rooms and an infirmary were built. The old building was also restored and a Design and Technology room was built. This school year, 88 students attend our school and 13 teachers teach.

Οur school has been participating in the etwinning program for years. Τhis year we are participating in the project "Choose the Right Techno Way". Ιn this project we learn about internet safety and the pros and cons of the technology. We also meet new friends from all over Europe.

Ιn our school we organize many events and activities. We celebrate national days and Christmas. We also celebrate world days such as world cancer day, European language day, world rare diseases day and world peace day.
