154 AG, Illary Tanai was born into a household of 7. A single mother with 5 daughters and 1 son.

Growing up, Illary desperately searched for her own exclusive theme to try and distinguish herself from her many siblings. Trying to gain some acknowledgment from her busy Mother she would normally cook 5 days of the week for dinner. From the family, she and 2 other siblings were the only air benders and despite what you think, only made her mother prioritize the non benders which stunted her air bending growth. Illary spent most of her time outside when she wasn't cooking for her family. She watched the market and its sellers. Each person she studied at the market had their own sort of personality and life. Then and there, her eyes glistened as her mind ran wild with ideas. She carried on watching for years, learning and absorbing all of the people that come near her and developing her own characters. If she didn't want to be herself she would morph into a character of hers (which to be honest was quite convincing to the point of being able to prank her family).

She worked between stalls between 11 and 13 years old for money, mostly for her family but also to work on her own hobbies like crafting costumes for her characters. She became acquaintances with pirates that sold to the market and started to act salesmen for them to attract more customers. By the age of 14 she had mastered her characters and performance and the pirates she had worked with recognised her as one of their own. One night she left a note on her family table saying "I'll be just fine." and then ran away to join the pirates and live with them as mainly a cook. Her craft flourished and her crewmates gave her the middle name "Mana" meaning mimer.

Despite being a master at identity change, there are a few things she cannot change so watch out for these key ingredients if you want to try catch her out :
