         <description><![CDATA[<div>It is interesting how it talks about adaptations in an organisms lifetime that cannot be passed down to their young, but one adaptation it talks about is certain behaviors that animals acquire in their lifetime through adaptation. Is this something that a parent could pass down to their young by teaching it to them? Such as when a bear teaches its cub to catch a fish or when a monkey teaches its young to forage for food.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think its interesting how animals that are harmless copy or mimics the style of a dangerous version of their species or animal group. Just like in the example that the book gives us The Scarlet king snake copying the poisonous eastern coral snake. Question: How does the animal learn to mimic? Has it ever been in contact with the animal that he is copying? </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I thought ‘the struggle for existence’ was very intresting. I wondered why organisms could produce more offsprings than could survive. Why don’t all living organisms adapt in nature to increase their chance of survival? In the book, it gave the example of green grasshoppers blending into their envorment by being green, so they are less visible to predators. It made me wonder if the yellow grasshoppers were or were not meant to be in the same environment as the green grasshoppers. </div>]]></description>

What do organisms do if they are not really able to protect themselves from predators, like the yellow grasshopper?          <description><![CDATA[<div>I found it crazy how the well adapted species over many generations can produce  species to evolve into a new type of species. That explains why species are descended  with modifications. I now see why species can be related to other species or run in the same tree of life.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I found the section comparing natural and artificial selection very interesting  and the connection it made in that both cases, there is a selection made either by a breeder or nature "choosing" the most ideal version of a species through survival of the fittest. This may sound dumb, but it makes me wonder if the same thing happens in humans. For example, if you looked at the bone structure or organs of a generation native to a cold climate, maybe the mountains, would there be any notable differences than people used to hot weather and flat terrain?</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It's interesting to me that being fit corelets mostly to being able to reproduce well. One wouldn't think that something as simple minded as a grasshopper would be smart enough to breed a color out of their environment in order to become well protected and more "fit". I mean in a sense they did it  <em>naturally</em>, hence natural selection. </div>]]></description>
