I thought that it was interesting how the police thought it was such a crime or a crazy act to be walking at night. Obviously, the population of 2053 used electronics more than they went outside and enjoyed nature. And like a lot of the others, I found it odd that the people were "encouraged" or given tvs, instead of being told to play outside. I was also confused when they were talking about jobs. If no one really goes out, then what jobs do people have?

I think that something interesting about this story was that the police officers were taking the main character to psychologist for walking. They were so bewildered that he preferred putting more energy into this than just sitting at his home and staring at a screen.
Something else that was important was that was important was that he said that the police car numbers had decreased to one, and nobody was even in the car. Maybe it showed the importance of not letting tech take over and drive cars and keep everyone in their houses.

I think the author's message was if we get addicted/obsessed with technology, things we consider important or good for our health like walking and exercising will not matter much. I feel like there was only one cop car because everybody stayed at home and watched TV, chilled on their couches and didn't leave home to go to places or commit crimes.
