Some children join willingly to defend their tribe. Both sides are recruiting them while the government claims they are not. They are beaten heavily when they refuse to train and while on the move, sick children would drop and the rest of the group would move on, leaving the child to parish alone. The UN estimates that there are more than 3,000 child soldiers.
