In all honesty I picked this quote as the top five quotes picked were all taken. I chose this quote over the few that were left as I had the hardest time understanding what it meant and I wanted to dig deeper into its meaning. My initial reaction in reading this quote was that it meant Macbeth neglected reasoning for something that he loved.

Instance 1:
My mom told me wash the dishes before I went to hang out with my friends. When I came home and she found out that I hadn't done the dishes yet I recited my quote to her. Although I don't actually like doing the dishes, it was a good attempt at explaining to her I wasn't thinking straight when I ignored her. She looked at me like I was crazy and then continued then forced me to wash the dishes.
Instance 2:
My brother was bothering me and compulsively I called him an idiot. When my brother told my dad what I had called him I recited my quote to my dad. My dad had no idea what I was talking about and just ignored me.
Instance 3:
My brother always tells me not to help him with his chemistry homework. I saw him struggling so I walked into his room and tried to help him despite him specifically telling me never to help him. When I sat down to help he got mad at me and I recited my quote in response. He had no idea what I was trying to say, but I thought it was a good justification for choosing to help him since I care about him and his grades.

Current Event 1: Trump Winning 2016 Election
"Trump’s victory exposed real divisions and new fault lines in the American populace, as he was on track to win huge majorities of non-college educated whites, while winning less of college-educated whites, who are normally reliably Republican." -Time Magazine
The election of Donald Trump shows how people act without rationally thinking. Many people loved Trump and his ideas, but other didn't stop to think about what they like in his policies and voted for him for the wrong reasons.

Current Event 2: Violent Trump Protests
"In Oakland, Calif., officials pleaded with demonstrators to remain peaceful Thursday after the previous night’s violence. Several incidents of graffiti — with phrases such as “Kill Trump” — were reported." -Washington Post
Violent protests demonstrate people acting without thinking because they love a cause very much. Although these people protesting against Trump rightfully want change, they could've asked for it more more civil ways.

Current Event 3: Trump's Team Revenge
"Since Trump’s shocking upset victory in Tuesday’s presidential election, several people who worked on his team have discussed ways to punish Republicans who were hostile to the New York billionaire’s anti-establishment campaign..." -Politico
Since Trump's team supports Trump so much they are going to try and evilly retaliate against the republican party. They are doing this out of their love for Trump and aren't thinking very clearly when they are attempting to take down people within their own party.

"Amnesia"

This song relates to my quote because it displays someone thinking irrationally with rage out of love. The writer of the song wishes they could develop amnesia to forgot about the one they loved that ended up hurting them. Although the writer really doesn't want amnesia, he really thinks he does as he is thinking irrationally from his broken heart.

Now that I have dug into the deeper meaning of my quote, I realized it's true meaning. My quote means to make an irrational decision because of love or anger. The significance of this quote is that it means to act without thinking which is a common theme in human existence. This quote is significant to Shakespeare as it helps Macbeth justify his evil acts of murder.
