Common Symbols
We find many different symbols in our daily lives, in paintings, on the internet, in books, and so on. You have probably already seen some of these common symbols.
White dove represents peace and hope.
Clover represents good luck.
Red rose represents passion and love.
Skull represents death and darkness.

What Is Imagery?
Imagery is a very descriptive way to tell a story. It is often used by writers to help readers enter more into the story and help them feel what is happening.

For example:
Without imagery: “There was a sunset.”
With imagery: “The golden sun shimmered on the waves.”

Types of Imagery
The types of imagery reflect the five senses we have: taste, touch, smell, hearing, and sight.

Importance
Imagery and symbols matter because they help writers communicate more than just words. Imagery lets readers imagine the scene and feel part of the story, while symbols give special meanings to simple things, showing deeper ideas or messages.
