A mood I thought was interesting was how the main character was always lonely. He had no wife, no TV, nothing to keep him busy. Not once has he met someone on any of his walks. How the author describe that he would talk to the outer walls of the houses really proved the fact that there is no one there for him. I also liked how the author pointed out every little detail that was there to make it seem like Mr. Leonard was seeing all of those things, like the fireflies and the "invisible snow". Another thing I found interesting is that he wasn't asleep. Everyone around him was sleeping and he was going for a walk. My question is why didn't he walk in the morning where no one could accuse him of anything? Why was he so persistent on doing it then?

The author showed that people weren't usually outside. The highways were always empty. This helped convey a sense of loneliness within the character.

The author used a bleak and frightening image of dark houses in a November night. Ray Bradbury made the story more interesting by introducing a lonely police cruiser into the story, putting a mood of loneliness and a dark sort of feeling. Not only that but the fact that there were no houses with power or with shining yellow windows except for his shows that the world that he lives in was a lonely place with nobody to accompany him. Additionally, the flowers and grass growing on the concrete pathway also represents the huge lack of popularity in the city, which gives a frightening view to the reader.
\

People found it strange to walk out for fresh air when they have viewing screens and air conditioners. This shows the strangeness of being advanced, because a writer, a thinker like Leonard would be a person of research for regressive tendencies.

I found this weird until I searched "Regressive", from the "Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies". I found out Regressive means thinking or acting with a lower stage of intelligence, like for example an adult believing a child's dream that the world is perfect. If the police take him to the Psychiatric center it means that doing something just for the joy of it has now lost it's meaning, and is considered useless and is not approved of by the society.

Normally, you can always see someone walking the streets here but there, apparently it was abnormal and now he had to be taken to the Psychiatric Center for Research on
Regressive Tendencies because he was just walking. I also found it weird that the story only talked about one police car for a city of 3 million and for the unnecessary use for them. Finally, I noticed on how behind Mr. Leonard Mead was on advanced technology because when the sound came from the machine, Mr. Mead was genuinely confused on who he was talking to.
