making new models for the younger version of the dog could be tricky, so it might be easier to use 2D Animation for the scene about his past. This will be shown in photo frames on his wall, going between frames for different stages of his life.

Paper or fabric animation

this is a unique art style that isn't seen too often and could be fun to try out, but I haven't tried it before and my intended audience may find it confusing.

2D Digital

Digital animation is probably the more straight forward method, but I could use a pencil art style so it feels old and homely, instead of smooth digital lines.

My audience could be people over the age of 70, since the message behind my film is about trying new things and meeting people no matter what age you are, which is a message that could mean a lot to them.

Because I am shooting for an older age range I will adjust parts of my film to make it easier to watch for them, I will focus on more muted colours, I will include subtitles and I will make the film slower paced, so that it is easy for them to understand.

The dog is fairly old by now but he is very kind and sweet, and wants to make the most of his life for his deceased owner. He has a fairly posh British accent and is very relaxed, but he still has his dog-like instincts!

The old lady is very sweet and kind, we don't see her much but it's more about the impression she leaves on the dog. Throughout the flashback you can see her health deteriorate, but she still keeps her cheery and kind spirit.

These will just appear in voices and maybe a picture, but they will keep a fairly simplistic and similar art style, and the focus will still be on the dog.
