-AI regulation for the technology as well as environmental impacts. Companies cannot be given water and power deals under the guise of creating a short term injection of jobs into the labor force to create something that is designed to take everyone else’s job after the fact. The billionaires that have this as their passion project have done nothing but prove that they are untrustworthy with no moral compass and are willing to shove their product down the throats of the American people at any expense.

-The deterioration of civil rights and liberties that have been able to occur under republican leadership and lack of response from democrats is frankly appalling. It is unacceptable that marginalized groups whether it be based on skin color, the gender they love, the pronouns they use, the religion they practice, whether they have a uterus, the language they speak, etc. have systematically been attacked by the right to create what is intended to be white nationalist Christian hierarchy where money and power can be used as leverage to push those communities down even further. This includes the complete eradication of ICE, which has proved itself to be a state-sanctioned Gestapo. More immigration judges need to be allocated to open the path to citizenship for families that have lived here non-violently for years.

-America’s foreign policy is abysmal. We are pissing off our allies left and right, starting wars over oil (ignoring both the law and polling data showing strong contempt for the war by the American people). AIPAC and the democratic representatives that take their money either from a shell pac or from an individual contributor that represents AIPAC’s interests continues to conflate antisemitism and anti-Zionism, leading to Jewish people in America being targeted in response to Israel’s genocidal actions in Gaza and Lebanon. It is imperative that we stop funding a country that is actively committing war crimes (defensive weapons included), and make sure that Jewish communities feel safe to practice their religion in parallel.

-Money in politics; for too long, lobbyists have been able to buy lawmakers into making decisions that line the pockets of the wealthy while fucking over the working person. The study that came out saying that public opinion has very little influence over what laws get passed proves that we are already in an oligarchy rather than a democracy. Laws need to be passed to undo Citizens United, and the tax code needs to be fixed such that billionaires can’t hide their money in loopholes while the public is forced day by day to prioritize their bills/ purchases due to the increased cost of living.

-Education scores across the nation are on the decline, with teachers sounding the alarm on reading and writing showing as a chronic issue. Phonics needs to be brought back over reading sight words, and so many new interactive tools exist for teaching STEM that can be implemented in curriculums. AZ has traditionally had tax credits go to charter/ private schools, leading to students not being exposed to peers outside their socioeconomic bubble as well as putting extra pressure on public resources. Teachers are exhausted and under-paid, and more effort needs to be put into students absorbing information, rather than teaching to the test so a school gets funding.

-Healthcare is arguably the most important one on this list. The healthcare cuts from the big bullshit bill are scheduled to start taking place after the 2026 midterms, so it is essential that our representatives fight now to safeguard the people as much as possible from these cuts. Insurance companies need to be dismantled due to their entire purpose to be to bar care from the people that pay into their care plan. The idea that shareholder value should take precedence over people’s right to healthcare is immoral. There are some things that are not intended to make money- as far as I know, no one is debating calling the fire department because they are not sure if they could afford it, but people definitely do that for ambulances. People that are born with or develop chronic health conditions deserve a life that is not made harder by having to deal with denial after denial for a procedure or medication that their doctor deems necessary for best quality of life.
