Além de ser uma das 2 cores da bandeira israelense, a cor do mar e do céu, o azul é uma cor muito simbólica para todo o país e para o judaísmo. 

Para começar, a cor azul possui profundas raízes bíblicas no Antigo Testamento. Para o povo de Israel, o azul traz à mente a obediência aos mandamentos de Deus, em oposição à vontade egoísta de uma pessoa.
