Semana Santa, or Holy Week, in Málaga is one of the most significant and vibrant religious festivals in Spain. It is a deeply rooted tradition that commemorates the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, celebrated in the week leading up to Easter Sunday.

Semana Santa in Málaga features elaborate processions with ornate floats depicting scenes from the Passion, carried by "costaleros." Religious brotherhoods called cofradías organize these processions, enhancing the solemn atmosphere with traditional robes and hoods. The streets buzz with locals and visitors, creating a lively mix of reverence and cultural celebration. Special religious services are held in churches, offering opportunities for reflection. Traditional dishes like torrijas are enjoyed during the festivities. This rich cultural experience blends religious devotion and community celebration, and attracts thousand of visitors and locals every year.

Semana Santa does not only occur in Mañaga, but throughout the whole country. Whoever, if I had to choose Malaga and Seville would definately be in my top tier - especially Malaga, but I may be a bit biased towards that.

It is a really unique experince which I would recommend who anyone visiting Spain!

Driven by its exceptional natural beauty, tourism on the Kornati archipelago dates from the 1970s and is the chief economic activity underpinning the life of the small islander communities. As a result, however, of a dearth of dialogue and cooperation with key local stakeholders (property owners, units of local and regional self-government, tourist boards and agencies, manufacturers and purveyors of goods and services, the civil sector etc.), tourism is haphazard and uncoordinated, having on the one side public institutions that manage the Kornati archipelago and, on the other, property owners and users in protected areas whose existence is "threatened" by protection. This gulf between the administration and the local stakeholders is also reflected in the satisfaction of visitors and their perception of this jewel of the Mediterranean!
