The FBI uses facial recognition to search & find criminal easier. Once it takes a picture of someone, it goes into a massive computer tracker that holds thousands of other people's pictures. It is a good idea because it is a more efficient way to find the identity of someone rather than going through a long process that might days to gain information. However, it can invade the privacy of people and their identities. It could potentially lead to a leak of information or a gain of too much information that someone might not want to share.

I think it is a bad thing facial recognition is getting so big because of the loss of privacy people are getting. To the government will be able to find your phone and know everything about you. Of course if you are a criminal it should not be something to just shut down. However, we have also gotten technology from the help of facial recognition that can transform you into whoever and make them say whatever without anyone thinking anything about it because the world's technology has gotten so good. If it happened to get that extreme someone can make a video a important social figure and ruin their life from a fake video.

Facial recognition software is a real threat to privacy and security in this modern world because of the present world of hackers and identity thieves. As stated in some of the online resources, the use of masks for privacy is a rising market, but the problem is that this industry supports crime by making it easier to conceal your identity. As privacy is important, it is more important to stabilize a future of online security. These are similar to the Baroque era portraits because both use algorithms to distinguish people without human judgement. They are different because the technological algorithms could make mistakes more easily without human judgement.

I feel that is it a bad idea to have other people wearing one persons face. It is a bad idea to have this for a couple reasons. For instance you are incognito and nobody sees you for you. And secondly for criminal reasons. What if a criminal gets a hold of this mask and robs a bank. They might think the robber would be the creator of the mask and not a criminal.

I think facial recognition is a good thing for society in the long run. It protects people from being hacked or stolen from. This will not affect my life very much in the future other than the fact that my accounts, and other things will be safer. This stuff is similar to portraits emerging from the Dutch and Baroque era in the fact that they have the same concept with faces and recognition. The only difference is now we are dealing with technology and not just picutres.

Although I believe that facial recognition is the natural direction that technology is headed, I think that with such technology becoming more common that we need acts and laws to better protect us as private citizens. We as citizens have the right to our privacy already, and this new technology should not change or infringe on those rights. Facial recognition tech, that already have recognized people, should not be sold to the government unless there is transparency on why and the intended uses. However, as long as we are protected against any privacy invasions and facial recognition technology can not and will not divulge any information to the common person I am personally fine with the idea.

I think that facial recognition could be very useful in helping with crime and identifying suspects. This new system would be used everywhere and it would help bring crime rates to a low because it can identify anybody from small features of their face. I also think that since the FBI has this new tech they would misuse and many people would not have nearly as much privacy. And only because the Dutch artists we most likely have this tech right now. Both are based on measurements and geometry within math. The big difference is that it is modern now and they used to deal with just portraits or pictures of the face.

I believe facial recognition is a good thing in society today considering all of the illegal things that happen in the world around us. It will help with identifying suspects and could even solve a crime. This new system could be used all around and could potential bring crime rates to a lower level because it can identify a person from just the smallest features on their face. But this system could also have the potential of being misused by higher authorities like the FBI for example. The two eras are different because they use algorithms which could make a mistake without human judgement. They are similar because they both used the algorithms to differentiate people.
