. Care workers must deal with personal intimate matters in a discreet manner that makes sure that clients do not feel 'exposed'.
. Ensuring clients can speak to family members in a confidential manner that should not be disclosed to staff unless their is a risk of harm or abuse to the client concerned.
.When talking to clients, make sure that the conversation is private and confidential .
. When needing to speak to clients do it in a private manner and not in front of other clients or staff.
. Do not ridicule clients as it can damage their self-esteem and self worth and make them feel disempowered
. Ensure that you treat clients in a equal manner, however realise that needs are different to each client e.g. One client may be epileptic and another one may have visual impairment.
. Make sure clients are not stigmatized due to: Race, religion, gender/sexual/romantic orientation, political or social status e.tc
. Offer a range of activities that include every client regardless of ability.
