Well I stick to my opinion of adapting to whenever you go, like start getting used to the culture of other people and make and effort for respect, to duel with this issue we can just try to talk normally do not make stuff that can be difficult for other people to try to respect others, probably it is better to know about other peoples culture to avoid this kind of stuff, personally I have never experienced something like this but who knows, maybe I will.

From my point of view, I consider that it is important to study and know very well the cultural codes of the cities or countries where you are going to attend, assimilate them and practice them with respect. And if there is something in my culture that disrespects the culture where I will be, such behavior should be avoided and suspended, for example in Colombia it is well seen that women dress in religious and public places with the dress code that we know as pants, shirts, skirts etc, but in other Eastern countries this is very frowned upon and women must attend covered. This is why you must know all the social and cultural rules of where you will be attending and thus be a respectful and good world traveler.

In general I think that the best way to avoid cultural issues is to respect everyone and their customs, treat their culture like you would want people to treat yours, and that’s most likely respectfully so it makes sense to “when in Rome, do as the Romans do” this applies to everywhere, because you don’t know the rules of different countries, who knows? You could end up in jail for something that is normal in your country or culture.
