You are most likely to find bacteria in high traffic areas, places people come into contact with often. The door handle and the toilet seat are places people come into contact with many times a day and they have the most bacteria. I know more bacteria is found here because we swabbed these places and they have a great deal of colonies whereas the phone screen and stair railing don't. It is more likely for bacteria to come into contact with these places because they encounter a larger variety of people touching them. At the most a couple of people are going to touch a phone screen and a lot of times people don't use railings on stairs. However, in order to use the bathroom you have to touch the toilet. It's the same thing for a door, in order to go out a door you have to touch it so it will open.
