I like that all the expectations are laid out right in front of us with very little room for interpretation. There's no guessing or wondering what needs to be done or how. I also like that assignments are clearly labeled with their types, so that we know which category they fall into and how much they affect our grade.

I am most nervous about the workload. When I signed up, I didn't realize it was an express class but dropping it would alter my current graduation rate and plan. I think it is doable, just a little nerve wracking.

One thing I really like about this course is the google docs that specifically lays out exactly what we need to do each week. I have taken many express online courses and always find myself confused the first few weeks. The amount of time we have for this course doesn't give us much wiggle room to catch up, so it is helpful to have everything laid out. I also like how much we will be interacting with classmates, which usually doesn't happen as often online.

The speed of this class certainly makes me nervous along with the grading rubric. I get anxious when classes use different grading scales than I am used to. It is a good reminder to stay on top of my work and ask questions when needed.

I think my biggest challenge will be managing taking 2 express II courses at the same time. I wasn't aware either were express and planned to have a heavy workload this semester but wasn't aware it would fall all on the second half of my senior semester. I think it is manageable for sure, I will just have to practice new skills!

The sheer amount of work, from what I gleaned from briefly looking over the schedule for the week, seems to be a lot. I do not doubt my ability to give the effort required, but I do doubt that I will have the time to dedicate. This is because of how demanding my other classes are and how demanding my own selfish needs are (8 hours of sleep a night, having friends, cooking food that is good for me, etc...).

I really enjoyed how you outlined your Teaching and Learning Philosophy! We learn so much about different teaching approaches, and especailly considering everyone's varying disciplines, I think including this in your syllabus is really useful. I agree with Papert's theory of constructionsim, and I am interested to see how through taking a class formatted in this way I can apply this style of teaching to my own classroom.

I have a lot on my plate this semster as I am taking over 18 credit hours, working a part-time job, and doing research with a campus organization, so my biggest concern is definitely about managing my time successfully. I am not the biggest fan of digital work, I think in large part because I am an English major. I am just a sucker for paper copies of everything, especially books. However, I am looking forward to seeing how this course will challenge me to adopt a new approach, especially considering how digitized the K-12 world has become since COVID-19. I am hopeful that I will leave this course with a working balance between digital and print instruction!
