In this website they cover 4 main points when opening a savings account. However, only two stood out to me. You should always be aware of any charges that may be needed to be paid as they possibly hinder whatever goal you have in mind. Luckily charges on saving plans are usually low. And one more thing, look at the fees. When choosing a bank you should also take into consideration of fees, services locations, but more importantly how safe you funds are. If you choose to either bank with a bank or credit union it is crucial that they are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (for banks) or the National Credit Union Association (for credit unions). This video focused more on the online banking side of things which I found interesting. For persons who do most of their banking on the go using their mobile devices, they should consider opening an accounts that offer online banking. Online banks usually offer little to no fees on their savings accounts, however they may charge higher interest rate than the traditional bank. Customers should also be weary of banks that offer high interest saving accounts as it is counterproductive  to be gaining high interest on your account but have have to pay more in fees.

This video goes into greater detail on the different types of savings accounts that are available. Depending on the specific account you can save a lump some, but each account has its draw backs. Easily accessible savings accounts are great if you want to to withdraw at ease, however you receive very little interest rates. I found this video interesting because was it presented as a game show where the contestant asks questions to a credit union, a bank and a piggy bank. Based on the responses that were given by the credit union, they seem to have to have the customers best interests at heart by offers various accounts and services and few fees as they are not-for-profit. On the other hand, banks also offer most of the same accounts and services, but they charge various fees in order to make their profits. What I found most amusing was the piggy bank that just sat there as it new it had nothing to offer as having one does not allow you to gain interest nor is entirely safe.
