Another skill entailed with reading is storytelling! Many books you will read contain a plot, a setting, and characters! For an example, I will be using The Three Little Pigs!

The plot of a story is the main events that shape the message of the story! The plot of The Three Little Pigs is each pig leaves home to live on their own! One of them builds a house of straw, the next uses wood, and the last uses brick! In the end, all three little pigs end up together again to escape the big bad wolf!

The setting of a story is the location in which the story takes place! The setting of The Three Little Pigs is Victorian England! This was a time period long ago in the country of England!

The characters of a story are the individuals involved that make up the plot of the story. The characters in The Three Little Pigs are obviously the three pigs, as well as the Big Bad Wolf!
