The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. The statue is a figure of Libertas, the Roman Goddess of liberty.  She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula ansata. The idea for the statue was born in 1865. Height of copper statue: 151 feet 1 inch (46 meters) and the lady Liberty is 147 years old. The ticket costs $30.
