the writer use language to describe the effect of the Weather as horrible .For example the quote "the whole body of the coach trembled and swayed, rocking between the high wheels like a drunken man" suggest the wind is attacking the coach so the passengers must find the weather terrifying. The adverb "rocking" makes it sound like the wind is pushing the coach around and personifies the wind as a person attacking the coach. this make me feel worried. for the passengers and concerned for their safety , because the weather is having a negative affect on the coach.

the writer make it seen the weather is really bad

The writer uses negative descriptive language to show that the weather is horrible and show its effects. For example, the writer shows this in the quote - "The driver, muffled in a greatcoat to his ears". This shows that the driver is cold because of the weather. The word "muffled" reminds me of feeling cold and needing to wrap up warm so I understand how unpleasant the driver feels because of the weather. The description of how the weather affects the coach in this quote suggests that the weather is unpleasant and frightening because of how strong it is.

The writer suggests that the rain is so bad that it is blocking the passengers vision. This is shown in the quote - "whatever view there might have been of the countryside was hopelessly obscured". This suggests there is so much rain and so much mud caused by this that it is "obscuring" the view outside the window. "Obscuring" sounds like the passengers are being blinded by the bad weather. It makes the audience feel concerned for the passengers safety because they could crash in the bad weather. This proves the effects of the weather are making the passengers feel hopeless because the weather is dangerous.
