Planes were initially used for observation but then they realized they could use them for dropping bombs and poison gas. dog fights were when two planes would fight in the air.

RMS Lusitania

This ship was sunk by German U-boats and aboard that ship were 128 Americans. this was one of the causes of U.S involvement in the war.

Zimmerman Note

in January 1917, Germans offered a secret deal to the Mexicans. They said they would fund a revolution for Mexico to take back the land they lost from the U.S. This note was intercepted by the British and sent to the U.S. This was probably the biggest reason we joined the war.

Convoy system
