My source of happiness and my support system. One of the reasons why I love family day is because of them. I love spending time with my family.

I'm the eldest daughter of Emilianita Lagunday and Bonifacio Lagunday, and I'm also known as their most expensive child; my brother is the second child and my sister is the third child.

It's July 21, 2025, and I'm writing this letter as part of a reflection exercise. I'm still in senior high school, in the Pre-Science STEM strand, and I'm so happy to be at Ateneo de Davao University. I love my new school and all the new friends I've made. This year has been about personal growth, focusing on areas where I can improve myself to become the best nurse.

The most significant areas of improvement I'm working on are my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The challenging scientific concepts we're learning force me to think more deeply and creatively, pushing my intellectual limits. I'm also honing my time management skills; the demanding curriculum necessitates efficient organization and prioritization, which will be invaluable in my future career. Finally, collaborative projects have taught me the importance of effective communication and teamwork, which are crucial elements in a healthcare setting. These aren't just academic exercises but building blocks for my future success.

My focus is on developing empathy and communication skills. I understand that effective patient care requires both scientific expertise and genuine compassion. I'm actively seeking opportunities to practice these skills through volunteering or simply engaging in more thoughtful conversations with those around me.

Looking ahead, I hope that by starting nursing school at Ateneo de Davao University, I will have a solid foundation in science, a refined sense of self-awareness, and improved interpersonal skills. I envision myself confidently navigating the challenges of the nursing program, excelling in my clinical rotations, and forming meaningful connections with my patients. I aim to become a compassionate and skilled nurse, more importantly, a better version of myself.

The path won't always be easy, but I'm committed to continuous self-improvement, dedication, and perseverance. I'm excited to see how much I grow and what I accomplish professionally and personally in my nursing career.

• Yes, Personal Development was quite helpful to me. It pushed me to reflect on who I am and what I want out of life. I began to better understand my emotions and learned what motivated or held me back. It also taught me to be more conscious of my behaviors and how they effect others, allowing me to grow as a person. Aside from that, it's a fun subject because it allows us to express our opinions and experiences while learning more about ourselves in important ways.

  
  

• One of the most important lessons that I have acquired is that understanding yourself is essential to being a better person. This subject reminded me that improvement takes time and that little steps are important. I also learnt the importance of creating specific goals, being motivated, and maintaining a positive attitude even when things are difficult. Personal Development taught me that self-improvement is more than just accomplishment; it is also about knowing your worth and taking care of your well-being.

• My favorite topics were Personality Development and Emotional Management. I enjoyed Personality Development because it helped me understand my distinct characteristics and how they affect how I interact with others. Managing Emotions was also quite helpful for me since it taught me how to remain calm and think clearly even when worried or overwhelmed. These lessons helped me manage my emotions better and gain confidence in myself.
