Prim I’m writing to tell you about my journey so far.I wish you could be here.This train is even more beautiful that the capital building.We are treated like royalty.The food is amazing, Soup lamb chomps chocolate cake.Also I experience the most amazing thing it’s called a shower.Clean hot water is sprayed out of something like a hose and you use soap to clean yourself.Best of all everything is free!The clothes they give us are beautiful.I will write before the competition.

Dear Amos,
We have been sailing for days now and Set and his followers are catching up to us quicker.The waves were clashing against boulders, causing us to get drenched in water.I had so many questions on my mind.Carter, of course looked at me obliviously.Only if you were there, it was actually a wonderful sight if you ask me.And ashore there were weird creatures, who apparently were lost spirits that never made it to the Hall of judgement.Weirdly enough,I also found out that Muffin, you know my cat, she turns out to be a goddess named Bast.Anyhow I better get moving, the boat should be docking shortly.

Natasha - I really like Daniel, I might even love him, but I’m getting ahead of myself. I’m in a taxi next to Daniel on my way to the airport, about to be deported to Jamaica, and I’m falling I love with him even though we had met less than 24 hours ago. The thing is I can stop looking at him. There’s just something about him that makes me crazy. I’m trying not to cry but I just can’t imagine never seeing him again. I then ask “do you think we would’ve worked out in the end?” He immediately replied “yes,” and asks me the same question. I then whisper, “yes” with a big smile on my face.

Daniel - I’m in love with Natasha. I don’t care if she is about to be deported, I will always love her. In a few minutes she is going to get out of this taxi, get on a plane to Jamaica, and then she will be gone. I don’t know what to do. I just want to spend the rest of my life with her and never leave her side, but that’s my fantasy, so for these next few minutes I’m going to look into her gorgeous eyes and imagine what our life would be like it my fantasy was reality. I wish you were you here. America is amazing! I go to school now. I’m in sixth grade. It’s hard because I can’t speak English yet, but I know I can learn. I am practicing by watching lots and lots of television. (At least that’s what I tell Mami and Papi). But there are other Cuban kids. A few came here on a boat just like us! But there are more who were born here. They are called Cubanoamericanos. They still speak Spanish at home. I have made a lot of friends! Thank you for making this happen. I hope you are well. Did I make the right decision? If I kept Hannah with me she probably would have drowned, but because I gave her to that woman, I might never see her again. Either way, I would have lost her. Like things weren't bad enough. Mother cries every night because I gave her little girl to a complete stranger. I wonder if she will be able to forgive me? No, will I ever be able to forgive myself?

Dear journal,
Today was a busy day because we got another message saying that the boat was at the beach. My hopes were high but we soon we’re told that the boat wasn’t ready to leave tonight. We weren’t at the mall at the time and when we got back there were two men standing outside the door. We asked them if we could go in but then they explained to us there was a price of 5,000 pounds a night per person! We couldn’t afford that but we really needed to sleep so we went to a park where there was no one but right as we sat down we saw the police lights telling us to move and that we couldn’t sleep there. I was so desperate to sleep I ran into on coming traffic trying to find someone that had a place for us to stay a night. After a few cars an old man pulled over and as I am telling him about our situation he tells us the news I was hoping for. He told us he owned a dealer ship and that we could sleep there so, we packed our bags but as we are on our way we got an alert that the boat has arrived but I wasn’t hopeful because of the last few times but the old man agreed to take us there. I was hopeless but then as we arrived at the beach I could see something and that I believe was the boat to our freedom. Mahmoud

Dear journal,
Today was a very stress filled day for all of our ship. Our boat had stopped only a day away from Cuba we where so close we could barely see it in the horizon. I was so confused by why we had stopped but as me and a couple other people had gathered on the deck to find someone to ask we saw a Cuban police man coming in on a boat. A crew man came out and explained that they had to check to see if we were healthy enough to come into Cuba. After hearing this I rushed back to our cabin knowing papa was ill at the moment. If we got failed the inspection we could be sent back to Germany which would not be good. We went into the dinning hall but papa was started to make a crying noise so I slapped him and made sure he new the consequences of drawing attention to us but when the doctor finally came around he said we were healthy and could go into Cuba. We got our hopes before we relized we weren’t leaving for Cuba till tomorrow!

I love my cat ears, the only thing is that everyone thinks that they are really weird and childish. I said that i would get rid of them on Halloween but i am not sure if i want to. They almost feel like they are apart of me. Emily and Tab keep making fun of me, i don't know why, they just do. At least Sherm likes them. He is the only one who actually likes my cat ears. I talked to J.T. today. He and Digger did have something to do with the kayak! They drilled holes in the front hoping it would sink...... but they meant it to sink Mr. DiAnjelo,not his wife and son. I don't know what to do. Should I tell the cops? But then my best friends will get in trouble. I cant keep this inside of me. Mrs. DiAnjelo is so sad lately it would kill her if I told her. Digger wants me to get rid of the drill as evidence. But I could use that as proof someday. Digger hasn't been talking to me otherwise. J.T. is starting to talk to me but I feel more alone than ever. Starr lives in Garden Heights which is a black neighborhood, but she goes to a private school called Williamson which is a white school. Once Khalil’s death is publicized many people are labeling him as a drug dealer. No one knows what actually happened the night of the shooting except for Starr. Starr must fight for what she believes in despite the obstacles that she will face.

This book taught me that you should not be judged by the color of your skin. I think this because in The Hate You Give Khalil gets shot because of his skin color. Because of his skin color when he died everyone asked Starr his best friend if he was a drug dealer. She said no every time. Everyone thought she was just covering for him but she was not she was telling the truth but everyone accused Starr of lying and that he was selling 🤬 because of Khalil’s skin color. and because of his skin color everyone thought of him as a drug dealer. So I really think this book taught me that you should not be judged by the color of your skin.

I wish I knew the date. I met the son of Loki a while ago. I didn’t know whether to trust him or not. He seems to be on my side, but he is the son of the god of mischief. I miss my father, my sister, and even my stepmother. It is cold and frightening being on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean without anyone you know. I daydream about picking apples from my neighbors tree and riding my bicycle. I know I had to leave Great Britain. It wasn't safe. Although this is scary, it is better than being bombed in my home.The seawater tempts me by splashing into my mouth, but I know it doesn't do any good to drink it because it will just make me thirstier. We are still on the ocean floating in the middle of nowhere and saving our scarce remaining rations of water and food. Ever since Oromis' death, Glaedr has been devastated. I'm not sure if he will ever recover, but he might have to for us to defeat Galbatorix. Nasuada has been a surprisingly great leader for the Varden, and has led us to the gates of Dras Leona. Where we have spotted Murtagh and Thorn defending the city. Galbatorix has yet to show his face on the field of battle. But when he does I'm afraid he will crush the Varden, Alfya, Knurlan, Surdans and the Urgralgra. I can't stand against his power, not yet at least.

Dear Journal,
Today was the day, me and the Fugees were in a tournament. First, we faced Blue Springs Liberty Fire. We were getting some chances but couldn't finish them and get ourselves a goal. They have finished one goal and it is only 1-0, we were still in this game.
It is half time and I am absolutely raged at my players, they are getting beat to every ball and you can tell Blue Springs was working harder than them. After this lecture when the second half started my players already looked more focused and were communicating much better. Josiah, one of the fugees dribbled to the net tapped it to his left and it rolled in, the score was now 1-1. Jeremiah took a shot with only a little time left in the game and it sailed into the net, just like that the fugees were up 2-1 with only a couple minutes left. They were so close from winning the game when Blue Springs found an opening and fired from far out. The fugees goalie brushed the ball with his fingertips but the ball was just out of reach. With that, the game ended and the two teams tied. After a bit of time Lumas team was sponsored my Nike who paid for uniforms and equipment. The fugees got a field to practice on and there were kids from all over on their soccer team. All the fugees shared a special bond with Luma and their team, they were almost family to eachother.

Dear Diary,
Today has been a really odd day, mother keeps saying the word “Soof,” and I don’t know what that means. To start, my mother is mentally disabled and doesn’t know that many vocabulary words. The only words she really says is, tea , and Soof. So, whenever she says Soof, I keep trying to ask her what it means but she will never be able to answer because she can’t talk. So my goal is to eventually find out what “Soof” is, and why she keeps saying it.

I recently moved to Forks, Washington and it is very different from Phoenix. The day I got there in biology I sat next to a strange boy in my class. He was gone for a few days and when he came back I almost got hit by a car and he saved my life in some strange way I didnt know was possible. I started to question how having super strength and speed was possible. While I was questioning this my friend told me and old myth about how there used to be wolves in this town and how they have turned into people. So I did my research and asked a lot of questions. All my questions and research gave me the answer and I found out he was a vampire. Now I have been living my life keeping my boyfriends family secret and having a lot of risks along the way.

My dad still isn't doing so well in the hospital and it does not look good for him. I am very scared that he will die because I don't want him too, I will miss him too much. We made it to Sour Woods. I really miss Ma an' Da. I just couldn't break the news to Kip about what happened to them on the ship that stormy night. There's this green door at the top of the stairs and I finally got to see inside of it. The huge black tree is attached to the room and there is a knot in the middle of it and it gives you anything you want. So I got a letter from Ma an' Da. It must be a miracle and they're still alive! There is a guy that walks around the house at night and watches us sleep, and ever since we got here i've only been having nightmares, same with Kip. We stayed up one night and watched him. We saw him digging holes but we didn't know what they were for, but we finally found out. They were the sizes of everyone one in the house includings me and Kip. I discovered so many scary secrets, for example that the letters from the trees that I was getting were fake, at the end of every letter ¨my parents¨ were telling me to stay put. Every time you go to the tree you get more sick. I used to have green eyes and red curly hair now i have black eyes and black hair. Also the hills in the backyard are dead bodies. IT'S A TRAP! I can't wait to be safe! I will miss my sister and father.. Not my stepmother so much though. I also can't wait to see the boat, eat a big meal and meet new people and friends! We are doing the lifeboat drill today. I don't mind it but Terry doesn't like it at all. He says it gives him a bad feeling in his stomach. I sat there bored out of my mind sitting in lifeboat 8. I'm stuck listening to a director telling me what to do when the time comes or if it even does, when the ship sinks. The sun was blaring down on me and I was sweating through my shirt. I wake up the other boys in my room and take them up to the deck where the lifeboats are, they safely board but then i remember that i left my expensive coat in my room! i run back down the stares through the kitchen and dining room and into my room i grab the coat off my bed. Dear Rosie,
I'm so glad that Elsie is finally gone. I couldn't stand another day listening to my parents call me crazy, but i'm happy that I am finally out of the insane asylum. I do kind of feel bad for taking her mask off in the park though, she wouldn't have caught the spanish influenza if we hadn't taken it. However, i'm still not sure why you would have put the mask on yourself, if you had left it you wouldn't have caught the flu. Hopefully we can stay friends this time, and not let anything get in the way of our friendship. It's still very creepy how one of the showings was of Elsie's body. We shouldn't have done that just because of all the sweets we'd get. Anyways, i'll see you at school tomorrow.
