Here, this is image shows how Banksy would have got an idea of making NAPALM just by picking a photograph of 1972! In his artwork of Napalm, Banksy has picked this 9 year old girl holding the hands of two of the most famous famous representative of their brands Mickie Mouse and Ronald McDonald. The original printed image by Banksy was noticed to be large to show conflicted America's consumerism if compared to outside world's portrait. In his graffiti, Banksy has used a mild of sepia tone and kept the background as grey and used white colour to fill in the characters. Moreover, if you compare the original photograph and Banksy's work, you would be easily able to differentiate how Mickie Mouse and Ronald McDonald's smiles are contradicting the fear and the pain of terror or war on poor Kim's face who is trying run away screaming and crying with her burnt back. As Banksy is an unknown identity, many are assuming through this work, he is trying to show how America treats the people of other cultures and how it doesn't care about people's pain. Ironically, this piece is used to increase sales and as a marketing tool in America for food brands which is a shame!

Paneri

●

48yr

BANKSY is perhaps the best and the most controversial street artists in the world currently in such a way that it creates a sarcastically strong impact in the society. The surprising part is that he is creating his artwork throughout the world but yet his identity is UNKNOWN since 20 years! His graffiti artwork has always been controversial and at the same time becomes viral images too. This artwork is named as "NAPALM" by Banksy and he created it in 2004 in United Kingdom which depicts an anti-war message. It seems that through this image, Banksy is trying to depict or comment on how the other cultures look at America and vice-versa how America sees itself through the eyes of other cultures. This was one of the most controversial work of Banksy till today.

Paneri

●

48yr

This is the original image from which Banksy created such a controversial work. This photograph was taken on June 8, 1972 in Vietnam during Napalm blast. In this photograph, this 9 year old girl named Kim Phuc is running from her home when Trang Trang got attacked in Napalm blast. Nick Ut, the photographer took this photograph and immortalised it as one of a terrific captures in the history of war.

Paneri

●

48yr

Banksy's weakness in NAPALM artwork

According to me, the biggest strength of Banksy which is to show the sarcasm and contradiction by protesting on one or the other social topic turned out to be his weakness in his this work. As told previously, for filling the colours in, he chose white to depict the seriousness but people put in different colours and used it as marketing tool! Many other replications of this Napalm artwork were made and are floating on the internet which is diminishing the uniqueness of the actual artwork of Banksy. So, Banksy tried to bring out the negative side of War but people are just modifying his work and coming out with more shameless pictures while disrespecting the actual intentions of Banksy.

According to me, this piece by Banksy is a really effective one as most of his art works are. It is really commendable how he has maintained his popularity even by hiding his identity! Banksy is a hidden personality who considers the entire world as his canvas and does graffiti in whichever country he wants. His this artwork was displayed in United Kingdom's one of the streets and went viral just like his other artworks. I always like his art work and think he deserves to be one of the most famous personalities in the world. I think the world is waiting for him to come forward and disclose his idenity. What do you think???
