If the developer gets their way, this view will be replaced by two giant warehouses and a lorry park.

Walkers, runners, birdwatchers and anglers knew the old reservoir. There were newts and water-birds. The reservoir was recorded as one of the heritage assets of the area.

The developer completely destroyed it in the summer of 2023.

There's the footpath...behind the furthest warehouse.....

Those trees won't grow to that height for a decade or more, even if they ever get planted. That access road's foundations have already been laid down - despite no planning permission granted to do so.

Lancs County Council says 'stop'...the developer says 'why should I?'

The developer has vast funds and engages in appeal after appeal. They will keep doing this until one day they get their own way. The locals who will suffer the loss of the land being wrecked don't have mega-resources. They are being trampled on.

And those very special conditions are set out in paras 153 to 160 of the government's National Planning Framework, reproduced here.

Of all the special conditions suggested, none include building an enormous lorry park and two warehouses.

Did you now a high pressure gas pipeline goes right through the Finnington site?

Imagine the damage an accidental explosion could cause.

And the emergency vehicles trying to get through on overcrowded narrow roads.....
