While Isabel is happy that her cousin, aunt, uncle,Ramona, and Esperanza are coming to the camp to live with them Esperanza doesn't like it. She feels it isn't suitable for a person like her or as rich a her. Esperanza even says that at home the servants quarters were better and that here the cabins remind her more of horse stalls. Isabel though is at least happy to e in the camp with her family. Isabel say that they are lucky even to have a bathroom because at an old camp they had to dig ditches. Isabel uses the time to teach Esperanza her ways to do chores but while doing so Esperanza is thinking of all the ways that this wasn't right. That papa wouldn't approve and neither would Abuelita.

Esperanza is reacting different than Isabel because Isabel is happy that they get to stay in a place this nice . This cabin is a upgrade for her because she had to sleep in a tent in the other camp she lived in and she had not fresh water from a sink and they had to cook outside. Esperanza never saw a place like it .She said that the cabins look at horse stables. She also didn't no how to do the house chores because she had the servents do it for her.

Esperanza's point of view was different because she used to be very rich. Now she is poor and has very little money. She is not used to working. And she thinks that their homes are as bad as the horse stalls in Aguascalientes. Isabel's point of view is different than Esperanza's because Isabel has always been poor so it is more than she usually gets. Isabel thinks the homes are really nice and she gets to go to school. She said that the bathrooms were better here because other camps they had to use the ditches.

When Isabel was changing the baby, she asked Esperanza to take the diaper to the bathroom and wait until she got back with the tubs full of water. Esperanza held the diaper out as far as her arm could reach instead of just holding it like Isabel does. Esperanza doesn't know how to do anything around the house because she had servants and she was rich and wealthy. On the other hand, Isabel was not wealthy and she learned how to do all of that when she was just a little girl. When Esperanza saw the house that they would be staying in she said it reminded her of the horse stalls back at her house. When Isabel saw the cabin she said that it was great and in some camps she had to sleep in the ditches.
