Later, they signed the Declaration of Independence, the British weren't happy. They started fighting and won back New York for England. The colonists, who at the time had banded with the French, were worried that the French wouldn't continue helping them if they didn't win any wars. Later the colonists had another war to get back New York, and won! The war cost them a lot of men, though they were determined to keep fighting for their freedom from Britain. Later they had yet another victory. They forced 5,000 British troops to surrender. This convinced the French to continue helping them, and that they were worthy of it. Later, they also convinced the rest of the British army to give up, and succeeded in that too. Eventually, after two years of compromises, King George signed the treaty of Paris. This marked the end of the American Revolution!
