There are not many varieties of plants In Kobuk Valley because of the cold climate.

- Spruce trees are found along the Kobuk River. They can grow up to 60 to 200 feet. They grow from 6 to 11 inched per year. Most of them are found in the northern temperate and boreal regions of the Earth. The needles of spruce trees are attached singly to the branches in a spiral fashion, each needle on a small peg-like structure.

- Oxytropis kobukensis flowers are a very popular flower in Kobuk Valley. In the park they call it the Kobuk Local weed. You can only find this flower in Kobuk Valley National Park. On average, it grows to a height of 30 cm and produces purple flowers during late June and July. It only lives on the sparsely vegetated dunes and slopes of the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes.

- Yellow Daises can grow from 7 centimeters to 1.2 meters in height. Daisy has green leaves that form rosette at the base of the stem. The Daisy leaf texture varies and may be smooth or covered with hairs on the surface. These flowers only survive when it's hot in the park. You can find these daises in the forest.

- Aspen trees can grow up to 49 to 98 feet in height. Aspen has green, round or oval leaves that are serrated on the edges. Color of the leaves changes from green to golden yellow during the autumn. Even the slightest breeze triggers trembling of leaves because of their light-weight and long leaf-stalks. Aspen is important source of food for the forest animals. You can find these trees in the forest.
